You May Have Noticed + Congratulations Bubba!

We’ve sped things up a bit at Swell Caroline and given our system the upgrade it was so begging for.  Now, with the site happily singing along, we have been able to focus on the things that really matter!  We’ve added Pinterest buttons to every page for easy sharing and we cordially invite you to follow us and share your favorites.  We’ve added the jelly watch shoppe with over a dozen candy colored timepieces that have become the must-have accessory of the season, and don’t miss out on our Win it if you Pin it necklace giveaway.  Just re-pin our monogram necklace and you’re entered to win any color you fancy {your very own custom charm and all} winner chosen this Friday the 13th!

Pin it to Win it!Aside from all of our upgrading and product posting we’ve been keeping our eyes on the little golf tournament being played just down the road {two hours is down the road, right?}.  Ever a fan of an event serving pimento cheese, this Masters Weekend was made exceptionally divine when a fellow University of Georgia grad brought home his first       green jacket {to his newly adopted baby boy to make it all the sweeter}.  So, here at Swell Caroline, we have decided to celebrate all things golfing green by taking a swell 25% off our signature golf earrings or charm necklaces in honor of Mr. Bubba Watson.

Swell Links . . . Some Grrrrreat Finds

We can’t contain our excitement about all the great things happening over here! From Lauren Hope Jewelry’s (fabricator of our luxe Heirloom Collection) exciting mention in Southern Living’s November issue to giveaways and contests galore (like us on Facebook so you don’t miss out on the fun), Autumn is definitely off to a good start. What’s more? Showing your wild side is certainly the talk of the fashion forward this month and it’s no coincidence that Swell Caroline’s baubles proudly dabble in animals and animal prints. So while I add the Tiger Bangle ($60) to my shopping cart (and jewelry box), take a look a what some of our favorite sites are howling about this week:

Thanks to Pretty Little Things for finding the perfect zebra shoe for Fall . . . and to go with my apple green Monogram Necklace  /  Speaking of monograms, Monograms and Manicures is giving away a super sweet cummerbund for the swell fellow in your life  /  Great blogs think alike — Coco+Kelly has green (and orange) on the mind too  /  We’re always looking for affordable ways to put art on our walls and DailyCandy Atlanta  has a few choice options  /  Mrs. Lilien sure knows how to furbish a look, and our light brown Naples bracelet fits right the mix  /   MSN Postbox Atantla’s tasty recipe means soup’s on tonight in my kitchen  /  Words of inspiration never get old, thanks for the pick me up Let The Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore  /  And what joy there is on Oh Joy! . . . Welcome to the world miss Ruby! I can think of the perfect bag for your new mama!  / The Budget Babes latest purse find reminds me of my go-to earrings right now  /  According to College Prep, scarves work with just about everything. We definitely agree!

Swell Style: Six Bangin’ Bangles

Admittedly, Gwen Stefani is not my style icon. She rocks as both a mom and singer, but when it comes to fashion I’m not typically eyeballing her threads. She does, however, look darling on the November cover of InStyle. I’m swooning over the mix of sparkles and color. The Marchesa dress is to die for — and I love that she’s rolling six bangles deep. Stefani’s Lorraine Schwarz dazzlers (à la the same designer who did Kim Kardashian’s blinding wedding band) are stunning, but will cost that propped up arm . . . and a leg.

Luckily achieving the look does not have to be such an extravagant luxury. Stack the bangles you already own or add a few swell choices into the mix. I’m not even close to being as rocker chic as Gwen, so I’d probably aim for more of a casual cool look anyway. The best part is that no matter what your style, anyone can roll six bangles deep. Here’s my bangin’ lineup:

Starfish Enamel Bangle in blue ($55)  /  Fall Gecko Bangle in pink with blue spots ($25)  /  Seahorse Enamel Bangle in white ($55)  /  Fall Gecko Bangle in pink base with peach spots ($25)  /  Enamel Horse Bit Bangle in aqua ($25)  /   Starfish Enamel Bangle in white ($55)

Thinking Pink This October?

As far as I’m concerned, pink never hurt anyone — in fact, this is one color that’s actually saving lives. About 40,000 women and 450 men lose the battle against breast cancer each year and we can all help by doing something that comes easily . . . shop! There are literally millions of ways to go pink this month, but only a few are getting standing ovations (and credit card numbers) from me:

-

All Swell Caroline customers who use the code PinkSwell at checkout during October will get a set of friendship bracelets free (yes, free) with purchase. Spend $75 or more will get a set of bracelets AND our limited edition ikat scarf — you even get to specify which color (pink, blue, or orange) you’d prefer at checkout.

- Another shoe-in on my list are the limited edition Tory Burch Eddie Ballet Flats in dark pink. They’re fantastic, period. Not to mention that 15% of the footwear’s sales to go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

-  The Mr. is not one for dawning rosy threads, but the Vineyard Vines Pink Ribbon Tie got his seal (or should I say, whale) of approval. What’s more? 100% of all proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Alliance.

- The always blushing Lily Pulitzer is donating a rather large chunk of change to the Breast Cancer Charities of America this month. I spy the Bernadette Dress; now onto deciding which baubles will pair perfectly with the flirty little number.

- Bobbi Brown’s limited edition Pink Ribbon Collection puts fresh hues on your lips and $10 towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It’s as simple as that.

My obvious shopping addiction aside, I genuinely can’t stop thinking of everyone affected by this horrible disease. Here’s to finding a cure — and to everyone doing their part to get us there (praying counts). At Swell Caroline, we can’t resist helping out (or pink) so this was a cause we were born to support. That’s why we want to sponsor your Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure team by donating $200 plus a portion of the sales proceeds from the month of October to the cause in your group’s name. Checkout our Facebook page for all the details!

Swell Finds: Awesome Autumn Accents

The first chill of Fall’s fantastic breeze were felt down in the usually steamy South last weekend and the crispness in the air put me into an immediate end of Summer tizzy. From whale watching to leaf peeping, I’ve got my eye on everything that’s awesome about Autumn. The joy of apple pie does lose a little bit of its luster as the days get shorter (and my cords get tighter), but this year I’m going to use the impending darkness to inspire me to brighten up my wardrobe with a few festive colors of the season. Of course, I can’t begin to tackle my entire cool weather wardrobe just yet as, let’s be honest, the mercury will still be grazing the high 70s for a few weeks here in Atlanta. So I’m thinking the easiest place to start is with accessories . . . and it certainly doesn’t hurt that these six picks are all under $60!

1. Long Gold Links Necklace ($45)  /  2. Weekender Zip-Top Tote ($45)  /  3. Enamel Whale Necklace ($38)  /  4. Milan Bracelet ($25)  /  5. Finishing Touch Earrings ($55)  /  6. Virginia Stretch Ring ($20)

Do tell: what excites you most about Fall?

Y’all Come Back Now!

Greetings from A Swell Blog’s editor, DSwell. I don’t know about you, but I probably spend far too much time reading (and writing) lifestyle, fashion, and design blogs. It’s my thing and has been for the past ten years. Truth be told though, I’m pretty much a flowy-shirt and skinny jeans kind of a gal. Being that I’m usually covered in baby spit-up rather than vintage Chanel, I do rely on adding accessories to keep me looking (and feeling) put together. And I know I’m not alone here. From fashionista to mamacita, we’re all just trying to look our best, which is why you’re going to fall in love with the southern charm of Swell Caroline. Enjoy yourself — browse the blog and shop the shop. I double dare you to resist these must-have-one-in-every-color Rome Bracelets ($30). I know I can’t . . . er . . . make that, couldn’t. So as I ponder up posts to come, take a look at what a few of our favorite sites are up to this week:

Apartment 34 is going green, and y’all know how we can’t resist green over here  /   According to College Fashion’s quiz, I should be wearing more bamboo colors… Not a problem with these Crystal Hoops in yellow!  /  How fab does The Broke Socialite look in our Geranium Gem Necklace?!  We are counting the days until her October 8th Sugar Coma event {Pastry-Crawl} in Atlanta  /  We’ve been spending so much time oogling over our new baubles that our homes could use a lil’ love — luckily BlueLable Bungalow is keeping our casas in check  /  I’m collecting bangles (OK, some might call it hoarding), but Everyday Ashley’s got her own collection confessions  /  Finally Fall! Summer Wind is getting me into the spirit of the season  /  Jessica Shops is saving us cash, and face, once again!  /  I can’t wait to see what Mimi + Meg has up her sleeve with Kate Spade  /  And last but not least,  Happy Anniversary Rue! We love You!

And if you know of a blog that you think we’d find, well, swell then please pass it along. I double dog dare you to find one I don’t already have on my radar (aka my RSS feed).

Supercalifabulous!

The Perfect Pink Palette

Clearly we’re not the only ones with color on the mind . . . or face! Is anyone else swooning over Kate Spade’s bold new Supercalifragilipstick!? The handbag royal recently teamed up with the lipstick queen (a.k.a. Poppy King) to create four lip smacking palettes for your pucker. It’s hard to choose, but we’re thinking Pop Art Pink is absolutely swell – and would pair perfectly with our insanely popular Baton Enamel Bangles ($20) or a darling Gold and Pink Monogram Ring ($35).  As far as we’re concerned, a pop (or two) of pink does the body, and the wardrobe, good. Which hue is your favorite for accessorizing?
